Timing a 33 16V after Belt snap

Hi,

A mate has managed to snap one of the timing belts on his 33 16V. Its getting repaired, only a couple of bent valves, however we need info regarding the timing marks on the head pulleys. Any help on resetting the timing would be much appreciated especially if someone could supply or point us in the right direction to some documentation on the subject.

Cheers
Roy

I think this has been covered here before...

I don't know the answer, but someone who knows will come sooner or later...

In the meanwhile try searching

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, already done the searching, with limited success, before posting the question.

Not sure how different the markings are from an 8 valve engine, but the workshop manual etc here

http://www.cuoresportivo.pl/__stare33/33_dok.html

should help.

Is this the point at which you start to wish it wasn't a lairy quad cam 16 valve and instead 'only' had 2 belts?

Quad cam only has two belts as well.
