1.9 to 2.4 156??

is it possible to convert a 1.9 jtd 16v 156 to a 2.4 20v engine? how many parts are compatible and what would need to be changed? gearbox, shafts, loom etc?

Anything is possible - I've seen V8s in old Mini's but as I own a 20V 2.4 I'd say your best bet would be to speak AutoLusso as they've got shed loads of knowledge. The 20V is an amazingly tight fit and so I'm told uses a vauxhall gearbox (say it very quietly!) as the 16V one is too weak. As a drive it's an amazing engine and I love it to bits but if I'd known about the dire fitment I may have considered something else. Taking the exhaust off to change the oil filter for example!!!

16V Box is acutally said to outlast the GM Box but is a tad longer and in addition to the 20V Block won't fit the 156
