Sump stuck

Hi all

I am half way through geting my sump off, well probably about 99% actually. I have all screws etc out but it stuck fast!! I have tried scraping away the gasket seal but there is only so much that can be accessed.

Does anyone have any tips for pulling the sump off the black?

Give it some gentle persuasion with a rubber mallet (or similar), and lever it very gently. Be really careful, cos the lugs snap easily.

Mine was a pain to remove, but the rubber mallet approach worked for me.

The horizontal one? Wait till you try and get it back in....and the nut/washer on.

Even with the car up on a lift, for some reason I find it a complete biznitch to get back on. Last time I resorted to a long screwdriver laden with thick bearing grease to offer up the washer and the nut.

when refittinging use a suitable tool tap the bushes out slightly this will give you more space for the bearing carrier bracket, the bushes will then slide back in when you tighten the nut up on the bolt.
