Well its finally happened, my beloved GT diesel has let me down and im distraught. After changing clutch master and slave i still cant select gears and have now identified a "clicking" which, I suspect, is a bent pushrod ( is that the correct terminology?) It appears not to be disengaging correctly. Its a gearbox out job, I know, but can anyone tell me roughly how many man hours a mechanic will take for a job of this nature? Im also struggling to find a cheap clutch set ( I know, dont laugh!! Its the joy of owning it that counts, not the cost!!) because this problem leaves me with the stark choice that if I cant repair within my budget I will have to acquiesce to the moaning masses that keep telling me to sell it because its unreliable and will cost too much to run, and I seriously hate being proved wrong!!
