split sec. engine cutout.JTD 16v

Hi, bought the car recently and since today the following happens: in city traffic( after 2 hours highway, openroad etc) the engine cuts out for a fraction of a sec, only occasionally so far.
no other symptons or error codes. Basicly other than this: engine runs like clock work.

Ideas? (the problem is verry small now but would like to know in which direction to look incase it gets worse)

Is it like a hesitation - ie feels 'choked' or gasping for breath? I had this intermittently with mine and it was the EGR. Hope this helps.

Hi,thanks yes that great invention called EGR i will have to learn more about that thing.(when it operates?,anyone got a link to a good description?)
It also happens now on the open road: when you just start a light acc. it hiccups momentaliry.
I threw in the FORTE for diesel yesterday so ill see if that changes anything.
If anybody thinks i should suspect something else please let me know.

Also if it is EGR , how does it get worse? does it become undriveable? and how long will that take?
