4200Rpm engine dies/soaked

Hi. I have just bought an alfa 156 2,0ts. but i have a problem. i have tried reset ecu. but still engine dies at 4200rpm no matter what gear im in. in neutral it can fine go up too 6-7000rpm. plz help

The feeling of hitting a soft rev-limiter is usually the MAF sensor.
It will rev ok in Neutral because there is no load on the engine, so the lack of Petrol isn't such an issue.

Try unpluging the connector on the MAF sensor and see if it revs under load.

It was the maf sensor. thz, very much for the help. Now my question is, does anything happen if i run without it a few days till i get the new part?
