TS cold start problem

I previously posted about a cold-start problem with my 2001 Spider.
The car spent several days in a garage, but of course started perfectly, so the fault remained undiagnosed.
This morning again it failed to start.
Can anyone tell me, whether a faulty engine temperature sensor could be reponsible. The common denominator seems to be the ambient temperature, once it's chilly, no start.
The battery is fine, engine spinning ok and it ran perfectly over the weekend.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, I'd try disconnecting the coolant sensor and see what happens. Or, even better, use diagnostics to see what the temperature is sitting at.

The other possibility might be the MAF, which has an air temperature in it.

I'd do it asap though... I rebuilt a GTV that had a head gasket failure that was caused imo by the CTS reading too low, which meant the cooling fans never kicked in.

Thanks for your feedback.
The car completely failed on me last night and the AA man traced the fault to the fuel-pump.

Best regards

I don't think the car would start at all with the coolant temp. sensor disconnected. At least it didn't when I tried once. But it will start and run fine without the MAF, so diagnosing that is easy.
