hydralic tappets

Just changed the tappets for a new set, they came shipped pre oiled but how long do they take to settle!

The instructions said they should be ok after a 20 minute drive?

I would have thought that they would pressurise with oil after a few seconds.

The surface that runs against the cam lobe might take a bit longer to bed in though.

I know which one you mean,

It takes about 3 - 5 mins, or at least it did in my case. I just started to get worried about the noise when it they went quiet.
