Cambelt Changes Due On 156 JTD

Hi this is just a quick one, i own a 2002 156 2.4 10v jtd (150bhp) and i was wonderring when the cambelt scheduel services where due i.e what milage should it be changed? I got the car at about 90k and i had not paper work to suggest that the cambelt was done however i was told that it had been done at 85k? I did have someone who knows there stuff get it up on a ramp and he confirmed that the belt did look new but now i am approuching 112k i was starting to think about getting it done again, so if anyone could give me the cambelt schedule that would be great

Thanks

Jaaaaag

Officially, it's 72K...but the smart time to change it is at 60K, along with the water pump (which can fail and take the t/belt with it).

Alfa Romeo Servicing

Better safe than sorry, imo.

Water pump on the 2.4JTD 10V engine???
Thought it was only the 1.9JTD engine that suffered the water pump failures.

10v do fail occaisonally, it is rare though. My old 8v (same waterpump as 10v) made it to 122k (and 5 years) on the original timing belt & waterpump, on inspection the belt was worn, no immediate signs of impending doom though, the tensioner & idler both were fine, but the waterpump bearings had shed loads of side-to-side play in them. It probably would have made a few more thousand miles, not a lot more.
