1.8 cambelt change

hi,not long had my 2001,156 1.8 lusso, it has done 53,000 miles and im thinking maybe i should get the cambelt changed, does the 1.8 have the cam variator like the 2 litre? any help appreciated.

Yes it has! I would change the belt asap if I were you (also the variator)

...but it doesn't have the Balancer and its belt so the job will cost a bit less.

Is that with Alfa or a specialist?

If not - go with the specialist, cheaper and my experience will do a better job??

its a local specialist, they are not alfa specialists exactly but prestige and mainly porsche, have used them before and they have my complete confidence, would never use alfa from all the horror stories i have read on here!

As long as they have the camlock tools they should be fine.

Do you know where these camlock tools can be purchased. I am about to the timing belt on my 166 2.0 T/S and want to make sure I have all the necessary tools
