Fuel temperature sensor faulty - 147 1.9 JTD 8v

In diagnostic procedure (FiatECUScan+OBDII cable) I had that fuel temperature values were 0C in 10min driving... Of course it is impossible and my conclusion is that my fuel temp sensor (located on top side of the fuel filter) is faulty... What are the consequences of the sensor's fake reading?

or fiatecuscan doesn't read the sensor values correctly (or at all?)

Unfortunately, AlfaDiag doesn't measure Fuel Temp - i.e. this item don't exist...
Yesterday I put one resistor (1kΩ) instead of sensor and nothing hapens - reading same as before - "C" without any value... Also I measured resistance of sensor and it was 1.9kΩ... Is it correct value and sensor is accurate?

Well judging from the fact that Alfadiag does not offer the measurement for Fuel temperature I guess this option is not available in EDC15 ECUs. Fiat ECU Scanner wants to do too much sometimes...

But if this device (fuel temp sensor) exists some software (in ECU or external) must reads this device?

Very funny - "Bosch" diagnostic system don't have any item that looks like "Fuel temperature", but when I disconnect corresponding sensor "Bosch" give a report: "Fuel temperature sensor problem" (similar case is by FiatECUScan 2.1, but it has item "Fuel Temperature" and show only "C")...

I measured resistance on the sensor's connectors and obtain 1.4kΩ, what corresponds to higher fuel temperature... Yesterday evening (colder weather, 16C) resistance was 1.9kΩ...
These are logical values, because this sensor is "negative resistance sensor" (according to ePer)...

Very very funny - in ECU file exists map for correction of rail pressure regards to fuel temperature...
What software/procedure can read this temperature?

just checked for you, but on jtdm 16v, through fiat ecu scan reads at idle
fuel temp = 24.56c
sensor voltage = 3,161.8mv
temp didn't alter much at all reving engine. maf air temp 25c.
hope this helps

Thank you sussexa for the information... In this case all will be OK - these temps are far from dangerous for high pressure pump...
