V6 charging problem???

Hi there,
I have been experiencing odd alarm indications recently on my V6 GT- soon after starting the Battery Low Charge alarms, followed by fleeting ABS/VDC/EBD alarms. These latter alarms go away, just leaving the picture display of a battery, and because the car runs well I put it down to Italian electrical gremlins.
Last week however the car would not start and gave all the signs of a flat battery. Having recharged the battery overnight, the car started first time and runs well. Guess what.....alarms returned.
If it isn't the battery(think not because it recharged ok) then I believe that it can only be an alternator problem(belts fine) or is there something that I am missing???

You need a new alternator, most likely, which is VERY expensive especially the labour. But check the aux belt and idlers first.
