cam belt 156jtdm

hi in bit of bother ere brought a 156 1.9 jtdm,04 with a water dameged engine,so i brougnt a second hand engine from a alfa breakers.because they gave me a waranty they cut the cambelt off so i had to put a new one on.well got a new one a tried to fit it (done a few on various engines,so i am no idiot, i think!) lined all the marks and tensioned it, well every revelution it jumps a tooth on both cam and crank can anybody help ta

If its mooves a tooth forward on both crank and cam then its still lined up? Same with if they both move backward. I presume when you say jump you meant it doesn't slip on the sproket? I'm not sure I quite get your problem?

divide the nr of teeth on the belt by the nr of teeth on the crank and cam.

it'll be perfectly clear then....
