2.4 JTD Crank Pulley Bolt ?

Hello,

I'm trying to change the cambelt on my 2.4 JTD 10v and I'm having difficulties undoing the crankshaft pulley bolt.
Can anybody tell me if it has a right or left handed tread ?
Anti-clockwise or clockwise to undo it ??

Hope somebody can help !

mine on a 2.0 TS is LH thread and was a ***** - full weight and nearly bending a 700mm socket bar - and that was with engine out
Interesting challenge with car on axle stands!

Well, I now realise that I've been abit stupid !

I have just discovered that to remove the crank pulley on a 2.4 JTD 10v you actually undo the 6 torx bolts around the center bolt. These are right hand tread and undo anti clockwise which makes the job some what easier than trying to undo the large centre nut !!

The centre nut is the most tightened bolt on the complete car. More than 300Nm....

A question about the six pulley bolts. They seem to be of Torx-plus type, is it possible to use a normal torx bit and what size is it in that case?
I have to change my pulley because it wobbles.

they are Ribe bolts, but yes a torx bit will work. T40 or T45 iirc

Thanks for the Ribe bolt lead,
I've been using Torx T45 but you do need to be carefull so as not to damage them.
