help with new engine

have just bought a new engine scrap was told it was 2.0ts but has no balancer belts so cant be how do i find out the size of this engine and will it fit into where my old one came from meant to be a 156 2.0 ts.

Does it have balancer shafts? Some people remove the belts. If its got no balancer shafts then its a 1.8 or a 1.6 but I don't think theres an easy way to tell just by looking at them which it is.

Both will fit and 1.8 should run ok with a 2.0 ECU, but a 1.6 is asking a bit too much.

Depending on how complete it is (for identification purposes), the 1.6 has a much smaller inlet chamber...

Photos might help, the 1.8 and 1.6 have a different aluminium casting on the side of the engine than the 2.0.

I have a feeling I have already spoken to you on the phone about this, or possibly someone with a very similar problem..
