Hi,could somebody give me some advice as im stuck.
I have a alfa 2.0ts,year 2000,i recently brought the car,and found that the thermostat was stuck on open,i brought a new housing unit and the engine heated up as normal, the car now runs very rough, when it reaches 90degrees[halfway on temperture gauge],i then changed the thermostat housing temperture switch andits still the same, previous to fitting the housing unit, the car was running ok,anyone any ideas please

You might have disturbed something when you changed the stat. Check the air intake hose for splits, check the local wiring. You could also unplug the MAF and see if there is an improvement.

Did you replace the coolant temp sensor (Screwed into the stat) or did you swap it over?

You may have damaged it.

Replaced the coolant temp sensor and the reading in the car shot up to maxium on temp gauge in car, even though the car was not overheating, put the old one back in and temp showing normal.
