Hmmm Variator solenoid question

I tested the variator solenoid, valve at the rear of oil filler cap, I tested but did not read any resistance atal,
I had a spare one tested that and it was showing 160 ohms, so now fitted.

But what would one read new?

And does anyone know were the relay is that controls the variator solenoid in a 916 Gtv cf3

This is for a '97 car but I don't see why it would change for a later engine.

On cf2 with M1.5.5 there is no relay, it's driven by the ECU on the pin 2 of the solenoid connector. Pin 1 is 12v.
To test everything in place start the engine and apply 12v on the solenoid, no polarity. If everything works the engine must start dying.

Sure I did not check dates as it was on top. But answers may be useful to somebody else. Isn't it the goal of the forum ?

I get very frustrated when people don't update that threads when they solve their issues. I try to do that on all my threads...
and I was searching on the forum a solution for a problem with the variator solenoid at the time, and this thread got in the way, so...
