Good or bad pistons

Assuming that I'm holding the piston in my hand.

How can I tell if my Pistons’ are Ok or fubar?

What can I measure / check?
Same for rings?

Any help guys thanks.

If they are knackered then what makes a good quality piston and what makes a bad quality one?

If there is no visible damage or cracks, the pistons are usually just measured if they are within the tolerances. The usual measured data:
(example for 2,0 TS CF2 pistons as I dont have for CF3 engine data)

Piston diameter 82,952 - 82,962 mm
check for ovality
Height of first seal ring seat 1,220 - 1,240 mm
Height of first seal ring seat 1,510 - 1,530 mm
Height of oil scraper ring seat 3,010 - 3,030 mm
Diameter of gudgeon pin holes 20,002 - 20,007 mm
Clearnace between cylinders and pistons 0,038 - 0,062 mm
All 4 pistons should be within 5g weight difference
