Could it be an air leak on the intake manifold?

Garage
Did you swap the ecu from the 146 too. Or were the engines the same size?

Is there an idle control valve? If the beast runs okay then you'd have to assume the ECU and the engine are happy together..

Probably an air leak.
Check the air intake VERY carefully
Check the valve in the crankcase breather to the manifold. When that fails, there is an open path that bypasses the throttle-body.

Two pipes, both from the cam cover.
One joins the intake before the throttlebody, the other (the one with the valve) joins after the throttlebody.

i dont think its an air leak after looking over it, its like a missfire but its definatly not, a garage i took it too said they thought was overfueling but passed emissions alright, if you hold accelerator down a tiny bit its perfect
