Hmmm gearbox oil filler 156 jts

Hi does anyone know where the gearbox oil refiller is on my 156 jts? and if it it linked to the drive shafts i have a slight leak on one of them and would like to check the levels - thanks R

Its a 12mm hex grub screw on the front of the box around half way up

Yes, it will be linked to the driveshafts .. the same oil lubricates the gearbox and differential where the shafts drive off.

The oil level indicator is simple ... take out the filler plug and check by inserting your small finger(!) and judge how much oil is there. Or, simply top up slowly and any excess will start to run out. Gearbox oil is pretty smelly stuff so make sure you have plenty of paper, paper-towels, rags underneath to catch any excess. You need to have the car on flat, level ground too.

V6 boxes are more advanced and come with a dipstick!!

is the filler plug in the same place for the v6,cause i had a look and couldnt see it or is abit tricky to get to?

AFAIK face the car from the front, it's to the right & down between the bulkhead & the 'box (fill through dipstick hole)
