Blacky's back!!!

After nearly a year of being off the road with a blown head gasket I've finally got off my **** and fixed her. There are some small niggly problems that have shown up. when starting from cold the engine idles at 1000rpm which is lower than I remember. Then after a couple of minutes the revs slowly rise to about 1600rpm and then stay there. The injector light also has come on although when I started it originally it wasn't on so i'm pretty confident the timings right as I put it TDC and used the timing blocks. Could it be the little valve unit which sits on top of the throttle body sticking open? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry forgot to add its a 1747 cc 16v from a alfa 155

BMW E12 M535i, JC racing diff, Gaz coilover, Powerflex.
Alfa 156 GTA, Q2, Super sprint, CF2, EQ, KW coilovers, Eibach rollbars, Powerflex.

Revs should start around 1000, then DROP to about 850 when warm. Possible airleak? Not sure about 155 throttle setup .. the 156 has a valve between the crankcase and the inlet manifold that can get stuck or lost and this also causes high idle speeds. Could be your valve is similar.
