Advice on 147 JTD

Hi All

I am thinking of getting a 147 JTD and would like some advice please. I am not new to Alfas - I have had a 146ti for 8 years now (the same one!).

Anyway 147 JTD questions:
1) Cambelt changes - are they the same as petrol twinsparks - 36k/3 years?
2) Cost of cambelt change at an Alfa specialist?
3) Things to look for out of the ordinary when buying a 147 JTD?
4) JTD 16v worth the premium over JTD 8v?
5) Had seen one with mileage around 100k - high mileage anything to worry about?
6) MPG at a steady 60 mph on a motorway - 55-60?

Thanks in advance for any help

Cheers

Re: Advice on 147 JTD

Think cam belt change is 72000.

16v defo worth premium.

Make sure the cam belt is done if buying over 72000 and make sure they did the waterpump as well, cos this can fail and cause cambelt to snap

I got mine at 96000, its now at 119000 no major probs other than wear n tear stuff.

Dont drive that slow on motorway but get nearly 50 mpg for mixed driving. I m sure you could get 55 at that speed!

16v mjets are nice and pokey. 140 and 150bhp models def worth the extra money. Try and get a 6 speed box too. watch out for anti roll bars, wishbones and bottom ball joints.
