Head skimming

Hi,

I'm thinking of refurbing the TS head that I have, if its damage is skimmable offable

A few questions:

How do I get the locating peg things out of the head? Drift them out from above, or do they have to be forcibly extracted and replaced?

What's the max that a TS head can be skimmed?

Should I take it for skimming with valves in or valves out?

Is £40 a reasonable price for the service (sounds ok to me!).

Cheers,

Iain

Re: Head skimming

Price sounds about right.
If the valves are recessed in a chamber, then you can leave them in.
If they are level with the surface of the head, then they need to be removed.

When I had my Cinquecento head skimmed a couple of years ago, I left the valves in.
