Spark plug change?

I have looked in the service book for these details but I dont think its very clear. Im not sure whether to have my spark plugs changed at its service next week.

The car is a 2001 3.0 v6 spider, 40k miles, spark plus changed in 2006 service which was 12k miles ago. How often should they be changed?

Thanks

Jay

Re: Spark plug change?

If they used the correct plugs, they should be good for 60k miles.

Thats why they are quite expensive.

Re: Spark plug change?

Ok thanks, although im tempted to get the done anyway. the garage said they would paint the two metal covers above and below the chrome pipes for free if I get the spark plugs done! 60 for the spark plugs changed and 85 if I just got the painting done...tempting

24v plugs are long-life and last 5-years/60000miles.

Re: Spark plug change?

I wouldn't bother doing either TBH. The plugs are good for another 2 years, and you could paint the covers yourself....

BTW, is that a Buccaneer in your sig picture?

If you had seen some of my previous painting, you wouldnt suggest I do it.

Tbh, I have no idea what plane that is in my picture, I went to the alfa meet in the gatwick aviation museum a few weeks ago hence the picture

Its a buccaneer

The spark plugs can wait if you need to. Depends if you can hold off getting the covers painted(you know you want them done).
