164 V6 12v engine in a Spider V6 12v

Hi

My son is looking at a 164 V6 12v replacement engine for his 1995 LHD Spider V6 12v

Will the 164 engine fit? I did hear the engine mounts on the block could be different. Does anyone know if that is true? If so, can they be easily modified?

Thanks in advance

Rich

Not EXACTLY the same. The cams are different, thermostat routing, cambelt cogs etc. lots of minor differences.
