Would It Be Possible To Fit A Honda VTEC Engine To A 147?

And produce the hot hatch Alfa should have given us; a screaming 4 pot with 200 bhp.

With enough time and money you can fit any engine to any car.

The 147 will still be very heavy, you'll have to lighten in a lot

Once upon a time Honda engines used to rotate the other way from European engines..so you'd put your Honda engine in and do 150mph...backwards

Just buy a Honda, why have an Alfa if you don't like the engine note?

See what Marko did to his 147 2.0, I think he took it to 230hp or thereabouts.

Clare nearly bought the previous model type R. Too hardcore for day to day use and an engine that struggles to pull the skin of a rice pudding (unless you're on it all the time >6.5K RPM.

Yep, no good for day to day driving. No torque unless your ragging its nuts off.. Same as the RX-8, can't stand cars that are like that.

As BigFoot said, why fitting a Honda engine into Alfa if you can take 2,0TS to 200 bhp much easier.

A 200bhp TS would be very appealing to me, but I bet its quite expensive... It would probably be cheaper to sell the Alfa and buy a Honda.

Look at the autodelta web site, rechip / remap ecu, change your cams, exhaust & airflow, not far off 200hp when thats all done. Wouldi magine cheaper than fitting a honda lump

Are you serious or having a laugh, just buy a honda, you buy an Alfa for its' exhaust note and engine note, a honda is well boring in comparison. Get the 147 GTA if you want sheer power, forget Honda for the company car brigade
