Help Recommend Garage for Cambelt Change

My Alfa 147 is in need of a cambelt change and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good garages near me, I'm in Blantyre Glasgow which is a G72 post code.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Recommend Garage for Cambelt Change

I have known Euan Colbron change cambelts from customers in Glasgow, he is the bet around, he did my daughters 147 1.6 not that long ago and is very good.
Unfortunately hs garage is in Dundee.
Even I use him from Elgin, so its up to you.
His Garage is CP GARAGE SERVICES
01382 731 479

Re: Recommend Garage for Cambelt Change

Just today I had the belts done at McLennans in Edinburgh (Loanhead to be exact)

Its 5 minutes walk to Ikea, Costco etc. to pass the time.

Well reccomended I tell thee!

I travelled 55 miles to go there.

Its a 1.6, wont take long, my 147 is a 2 litre.

McLennans in Edinburgh - very impressed by their service- traveled 60 miles but worth the drive, not too keen on Ikea, but a day sightseeing in Edinburgh was ok.

Re: Recommend Garage for Cambelt Change

Should have posted this:

1 Park Avenue
Loanhead
Near Edinburgh
EH20 9AS
Scotland
UK

Tel: 0131 440 0597

They have full Examiner diagnostics, do air con, computer alignment etc. and are quite happy to have you in the workshop.

Dont be put off by the appearance of the facilities - its a busy place!

Re: Recommend Garage for Cambelt Change

MIne is a 2 litre and it needed a 36K service as well as wheel alignment so it took all day.

I havent paid yet!

I need to go back and get something else done and square it up then.

My belts and tensioners (2 litre has them x2) plus fitting a variator I supplied is about £300.00 all in.

Give Stuart a call, they are competitive and certainly seem to know what they are doing.

If its just a 1.6 belt, tensioner and variator - about 3 hours?? perhaps, dont really know!
