Right then here is the much anticipated Ghost Walk event thread

A bit of background (expertly cut and pasted).....

Friargate Ghost Walk

This walk begins and ends at the Derby Gaol, in the basement of 50 /51 Friargate, (enter the Gaol via the car park at the back in Agard St. opposite Union Blue Public House). On your way round, you will hear of many stories of horrific murders, executions and ghostly occurrences.

The first stop is at Seymours, where you will see the actual photograph of the Victorian lady who still haunts the building to this day. The next story is about St. Werburgh's Church, scene of an horrific murder back in 1252. The Church has had a curse on it ever since. The Friary cellars are also visited, built upon the site of a dominican friary. Haunted by a black monk.

Stories of Pickford's house museum being haunted by a child and stories of The Reformed Bill Riots of 1833 are mentioned before you are taken to Derby's fifth and last prison, Vernon Street, part of which is still standing. The evening concludes with a Condemned Man's Supper, then unlike so many that have been at the Gaol before, you will be permitted to go home.

The plan is to meet between 6.30pm and 6.45pm in the car park of the Gaol on Agard Street opposite the Union Blue pub.

Address:
50-51 Friar Gate, Derby DE1 1DF

The walk will start at 7pm sharp so don't be late

The walk will last about 3 hours or so

The price is 21.00 per person with a deposit of 11.00 needed ASAP (paypal might be the best way to do this?)

If we can confirm 15 or more attendees it will be a private AO ghost walk

I will add any more information as I get it, but please get those confirmed RSVPs in PDQ

All other info you might need can be found at http://www.derbyghostwalks.com

Cheers doods

2x yeses here. The only proviso - Our route there would be over the top of the hills around Ashbourne, so if the weather is bad (ice / snow) chances are we'd have to drop out.
