alfa 156 1.9jtd issues

Hi guys, does anyone in the burton upon trent area have a multiscan reader for the 156 1.9 jtd they wont mind me borrowing or popping round to hooking it up as i have a few issues with my new to me 156 sport.

engine management light is on, the previous owner says this was because the egr valve has been blanked, It throws out a lot of black soot and its not great on mpg, and i keep finding previous owner bodges

If you can get over to Coalville I can hook it up to mine if you like. I'll be able to pull the EGR valve off for you too and make sure it's working as it should. An EGR should never be blanked completely without a remap.

Well the 156 is sorted (fingers crossed) thanks to tom kindly inviting me round and cleaning the egr valve and solenoid, hooking the old girl up showed injector 3 and after a few cleans she is now running great, and for the first time since I have had my alfa when you turn the key no motor control error message.....woohoo!

Thanks again tom really appreciate it

Drop me a text when you want a hand or tea maker lol! with the black line and I will bring the axial stands.

Hopefully going to a meet this year an meet some more top alfa people!
