What is East Mids?

I live in Peterborough and it seems to be an island not incorporated into anywhere else.

Where does East Mids cover? Seems lots of bods in Nottingham and thereabout. What are the boundaries?

East Midlands is roughly the southern halves of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, all of Leicestershire & Rutland, easternmost part of Staffordshire and the southwestern part of Lincolnshire. I guess you could say the centre of the East Mids is roughly somewhere between Nottingham, Derby and Leicester, around Loughborough maybe.

It is a lump to the North of Cambs, to the south of Lincs, to the west of Leics. it's a little lump that nobody wants.

Way to the 'east' of Leics! It's next to Rutland, which isn't part of Leics anymore.

That's how far west Leicestershire is!

Good, fast roads though.

In Leics? There's some really awesome roads in Leicestershire, especially in the Charnwood Forest area, gorgeous scenery and lots of hills and twisty roads.

Around Peterborough and Stamford and towards Corby there are lovely roads all sweeping bends and tight bits to keep you awake. Much further East of Peterborough is old fen roads. Dead straight and badly rutted followed by unsigned right angle bends. Extremely 'interesting' at night.

leicesterhire has some good roads (which rarely appear on sat nav programs) between the m1 and the a1 with very few speed cameras

unlike Derbyshire whish is covered in cameras cops and 40mph restrictions
