So, as we had such a great time last month, I propose that AOEM again attend the Ashby Folville Car Show.

The show happens every second Tuesday of every month. Therefore will next be happening on the Tuesday 9th August.

I mentioned last month that during the summer months in-excess of 4000 people descend to view hundreds of show cars. this might have been a little exaggeration, but the event is very well supported and many cars/bikes & people turn up.
A selection of the cars that came last month can be seen here: Linky

Folk start to turn up from about 17:00, and it soon gets really busy.

So based on that, and the fact it's mid-week, I propose that we meet at Donny services at 17:00 and aim to set off at 17:15.

I know it's a little after visitors start to gather at the show and we risk being caught in the busyness. . . . but I understand that folk have to work too.

The show has a FB page that you can have a gleg at if you like. Linky

There are refreshments available: burgers and some Asian food, ice creams, as well as a couple of bars.

Last month, there was a very strong Police presence in and around the village.
The 'feds' were checking RFL discs on cars at the show, there were speed/ANPR cameras stationed on both roads that lead to/from the village, and we did see the 'Bear in the air' around the area looking for those who chose to partake in 'spirited driving'

We will be having a nice sedate trundle to the show, so will be okay.

I've also got a few of the lads from work to come and join us for the evening....so we'll also be showing my Auris Hybrid and a Honda S2000 with our Alfas.

Hope to see you along.

Which way will you go to get there H? If I can avoid having to go to Bracknell that day I might try and wangle this one. Ideally would like to meet up en route though rather than head away just to head back again.

Forecast is looking good for a visit to Ashby Folville

Coming from Birmingham looks like it will be up the M69 onto the M1 and then the A607 round the top of Leicester.

Thus best I meet you there

Hopefully it will be good and importantly the weather doesn't spoil the evening.
