Ideas Please???

I would like to ask all you good East Anglian folks where and what you would like to do for a meet.

In the northern reaches we have a monthly pub outing which is pretty well attended, especially in the summer months. We have organised breakfast meets too - the first one had 23 people roll up!

As you know I live in Cambridgeshire and don't know the other parts of the region well. If you let me know what you like to do for fun, day out, etc I WILL source it and organise it........of course you're all very welcome to the Christmas party at mine next Thursday evening

COME ON YOU LOT

get posting

PLEASE

I think we should rotate meetings in East Anglia as its such a vast county, Cambridgeshire (Peterborough, Jillys neck of the woods), Suffolk, Norfolk (Norwich, my neck of the woods) lol on a quarterly basis as I think this will generate more interest lol .....

or

not bad Sean, how about if we have four "big" meets like that (maybe taking motor shows into consideration) and smaller meets more locally to ourselves. i think a drum up of interest is in order. maybe talking to local specialists persuading them to have a few leaflets on their counters.

It is a huge area.

I was the rep once (a few years back now) and I did as suggested above - move the meetings from Norfolk to Suffolk to Cambridgeshire.

I just looked at the map - picked a pub and said let's meet here. A few people turned up and we went from there. Sometimes it was just me and one other - other times 20 turned up.

gtv73 I agree with you.

Jill - please don't feel daunted by the task - you have gtv73 on your side.

My suggestion is that one of you organises a meet in Suffolk or Norfolk, pick a venue - nice pub lunch works, followed by a drive after. The Cromer- Hunstanton road is a good one.

All I would say is don't ask - just say "This is the meet I have organised" and post the details. They will come.

If they don't then I will, so you get at least one.

There's a good pub - The Village Inn - at Little Melton just off Norwich Southern Bypass A47 (turn for Watton) which is one of the Crown Carveries places: look them up on the internet. Plenty of car park space, nice atmosphere, excellent food!

Oops sorry lol, I ll post dates and venues from everyone's ideas above for next year so that we all can have a great time. I hope that is ok with you Jillyflower lol. If someone has a idea, I ll organise a meet for that place with a time and date.

I like the ideas above and I ll make sure that we do them all for everyone.

There's quite a lot of events going on in the near forgotten Northern part of the area (Norfolk!) where there's quite a good concentartion of Alfa Romeo cars. If someone 'sifts' these events out then maybe a meet in conjunction with one or more could be of interest?

Sean....Well done that man.......I'd almost given up the will to live

There will be the usual local to me things going on and I try VERY hard to get to all of the above

Do I need a 'special' outfit for Peter Pans playground meet??
You may need to ring the pub and book a table for the Feb one Sean? I'd put it up as an event and take it from there?

See ya soon

Thank you Jilly,

With Freddie aka 'carrotsucker' help, get a table booked with more details to follow and will be booking a table up within the next week or so. May be also doing a breakfast meet in December at the same place as kindly recommended by Freddie.

Oh yes you need a outfit.... a choice of two lol.

1. Dress up as Peter Pan, wearing green and green tights.

or

2. Dress up in white stilletos, white handbag and talk like me acting dumb as I come from essex too, happy days.

Jill - sorry but Sundays are now off for me - taking on elderly (91 year old) mother and that is the only day I can realistically do the weekly 200 mile round trip visit to S London from Suffolk.

Damn.

AS THERE'S ONLY ONE PRE-XMAS SUNDAY LEFT, LOOKS LIKE A BIT NEAR CHRISTMAS FOR A BREAKFAST MEET, ESPECIALLY AS THE FEASTING SEASON IS NOW UPON US.....AND WE'RE ALL FATTENING UP!
IF YOU GO TO THE 'VILLAGE INN' LOOKS LIKE NO NEED TO BOOK A TABLE/TABLES AS THERE'S PLENTY OF ROOM. GOING THERE TOMORROW NIGHT SO WILL REPORT SITUATION AND TRY TO FIND OUT ABOUT BREAKFAST MENU AND TIMES, AND POST DETAILS.
