Peterborough Italian festival 2012

Hi all

I'm just testing out who might be up for a free days parking in Peterborough

Seriously in September there will be another Italian Festival, I have yet to confirm the exact date. last year was glorious sunshine and Antonio Carluccio made an appearance, thanks to the local Alfa dealer- Donald's, together with a mryiad of food stalls and live entertainment.

This year sees another Italian celeb chef, Gino D'Campo (sp) on the Sunday of the festival. I've had a chat with Donald's today and I wonder if we can get some of our classic alfa's alongside the (2) newer models to give a bit more interest on the day. I'm sure people will be more interested in our bella's really It could be 'Alfa's through the ages'

I will email my local council contact and find out the exact dates but would really appreciate if folk that are interested could either post on this thread or P.M me.

Donald's are really hoping to improve their local reputation....yeah I know it won't take much but there may well be 'some' benefits for us locals....who knows.

Roll up, roll up

Cheers guys

JFx

MiTo

Hiya!

I've just checked the dates and they are 15th and 16th of September!

I would need to double check I'm not working that day,and if not I'll see you there! Having just got my MiTo from Donalds I know how much of a brilliant bunch they all are so I'm sure they'll manage to organise something!

Excellent guys....please pass this on to anyone else in the alfisti world. It'd be really great to get a sort of 'classics to present day' display.

Shame you can't make it spacecowboy

Hi Guys,

Looks like an interesting day out, other half won't mind coming with me if there is food involved!

Is there special parking for alfa's at the festival then?

I know you were keen to have classic alfa's there, but I would b in my S - any good?

John

If I can touch it.....you can bring it

I'll be starting an event sticky soon for this. We hope to have 'special' parking for all the alfa's on the Sunday, maybe even the Saturday. I have one spare bedroom and a blow-up double mattress if anyone wants to stay over for the weekend? Let me know?

Will Rinaldo Fasulo be there?

I gather he owns half of Peterborough now. It never looked that way when I used to play football with him on Cherry Tree Rec as kids!

No, not for thirty-plus years! I try to keep half an eye on events there, though. Actually, he's not the only Italian I used to know who's done very well there. Can't say I ever noticed that entrepreneurial spirit there at the time, but hey-ho.

I daresay Cherry Tree Rec's been concreted over by now.

No, the Rec was on the other side of Oundle Road, opposite the pub. You could walk through it to, Jeez, I dunno, Orchard St? Used to be a pub there too, the Swiss Cottage.
