Spring Alfa Day
Imperial War Museum Duxford,
Cambridgeshire, CB22 4QR
www.duxford.iwm.org.uk
Sunday 17th April

Our ‘season opening’ event will be held at Europe's premier aviation museum. More than 1,500 Alfa Romeo owners and enthusiasts are expected to ‘touch down’ at Duxford on Sunday 17th April. The venue houses one of the finest collections of tanks, military vehicles and naval exhibits in the country.

Spring Alfa Day will see iconic and evocative examples of this famous marque from the past 70 years on display. A real opportunity to see the changing style and sophistication of Alfa Romeo in one place.

The Club Shop will be presenting its 2011 collection of AROC merchandise and the event will be supported by a number of trade and private stands offering parts, accessories, miniatures, literature and models. The event is not to be missed by any true Alfa fan and all are welcome!

The dedicated AROC entrance will open at 09:30 and will close at 13:00. AROC members using this entrance and who do not attend the event in an Alfa Romeo, must produce a current AROC membership card. Non-AROC members will be directed to the main visitors car park. The standard museum admission price is £16.50 per person. Spring Alfa Day will finish at 16:00 and gates close at 18:00.

For further details including trade stand enquiries, please contact:
Nick Wright – AROC Manager – 07753 857029 – [email protected]

I thought that non AROC Members would be admitted as long as they came in an Alfa ? That's how I read it anyway.

I'd like a little meet up location so us lot from Lincs could get together and arrive in convoy but I'm struggling to find a location to do this. Ideally somewhere on the A1198, any one have any ideas ?

That's a possibility but I was thinking of somewhere a bit further North so we could have a longer run.

There is also a suggestion in the other Thread that cars coming from Royston will NOT be able to turn right into the IWM, does any one know if this is true ?

I suspect that this may well be the case, if so I'll even have to rethink my route, was hoping to avoid the M11.

It is true that you cant turn accross the traffic, but all you have to do is drive past, go round the roundabout just past the museum and come back up the road and you are there

Thanks for that. Thinking back I'm pretty sure that's what I did on my last visit there.

Dear All

I have been asked to clarify the admission details for Duxford, in my role as AROC Club Manager.

The situation is that non AROC members, providing they are driving an Alfa, will be allowed in the same gate to park up with the other Alfas, although they cannot take advantage of the reduced pre-booked ticket price. Non Alfa drivers will be redirected to the public car park.

Please note there is no separate model/section/AO parking - you will be guided by the marshalls on entry where to park i.e. in the order of arrival.

Looks like being a good day - have arranged for an 8C spider to drool over

See you there

Nick
