Ferrari 275 GTS/4 NART Spider

1968 Ferrari 275 GTS/4 NART Spider by Scaglietti | Monaco 2016 | RM Sotheby's

A 275 GTB/4 N.A.R.T. Spyder version was only available from a single American dealer, Luigi Chinetti. He asked Sergio Scaglietti and Enzo Ferrari to build a few Spyder, a convertible with no roof, versions of the 275 GTB/4, which he bought for approximately $8,000 each; N.A.R.T. stood for Chinetti's North American Racing Team. It was to be a custom run of 25 cars straight from Scaglietti, but because of low sales, just 10 were built in 1967 and 1968, making this one of the most valuable Ferraris.

The NART driven by Faye Dunaway in the 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair, was serial number 09437, the first produced. It came second in its class in the 1967 12 Hours of Sebring before being repainted and used for the movie.

S'alright I suppose.

It's cool if it's out being used and abused, and getting dirty and wet. If it's locked away in an air conditioned garage where nobody ever sees it because it's an investment I'm not so sure.

The bloke selling it wants it.to be used, hence the sale.

Spunky O'Plastic?

It's no doubt a very pretty car but as the worlds biggest Ferrari fan, a Ferrari with no roof, or a removable roof at least, is nowhere near a cool thing

I'm not against cabrios but a Ferrari cabrio is just wrong. It's only purpose is for posing, a Ferrari should be about driving

I'm sat on the fence though I understand convertibles being convertibles and the chassis or whole car not as stiff (careful) they do not handle as well. I mostly think coupe's look nicer too. Across all marques. Only exception is an A4.
I'm not sure an EOS looks like a Golf though I suspect that is the platform? It does however look better than a Golf. That's not saying much because I do think a Golf is a bit of a boring looking car.

Last weekend there was a 458 Spider and a 360 Spider ahead of me. The 360 was catchable but no way was that 458. Not for me.

I think most of it comes down to confidence and ability. I think most post 80's Ferraris are probably more capable than I am.

I'm not going anywhere, I'm just going.
Statements above are all my own opinion and not fact.
