The Capri probably prompted Regie to produce this. The 15 was limp and square-headlights, the 17 was limp-ish and had twin, round lights. Much nicer. The TS, latterly Gordini, had a little oomph - 108 bhp, with an option for a full-length Webasto roof.


The cars were replaced in '79 by the R18-based Fuego. Ooh. Might do a poll.

My father in law had a 17 Gordini in stunning mustard (sic) with removable steel roof,it was pretty quick for its day but they havent dated very well

I like French cars as much as you do, but I can't build a cool case for this one. It looked oddly proportioned when new, and it still does. But while many French cars can carry off their screw-ball looks thanks to their casually endearing oo-la-la! charm, I think - visually - this one is more Oh My God, than oo-la-la.
