Lancia Thema 8.32

The Italian luxury sedan of the late 80s, coupled with a Ferrari engine. Class meets power. But is it cool?

I think this now sits on the edge of cool/uncool.

It was pretty cool in its day. Now it looks a bit old and clunky despite having an interesting engine. However, I think in a few years it will become cool again. So I'm going with a forward-looking cool vote.

Its also a car that needs careful choice of colour. That maroon does it no favours.

Sober looking saloon with a Ferrari engine works for me. Cool.

So your earlier assertion that Fezzas are uncool has an exception, albeit a Lancia, to prove the rule.

Sleeper cool, better zan ze Germans and their "M" cars.

Office Chair.

I don't much like it. I guess the Ferrari engine bit is a tad cool. I'm not with the boxy look. I feel similar about Fiat 131's/Mirafioris.
I'm on the fence. Whilst it's old I just don't think generally people will look and think cool.
As such I can't vote

I don't think it is cool.

It may have a Ferrari engine, but it was far from being the best engine Ferrari had made up to that point.

Also the styling is challenging to say the least.

Good, different, but out performed by the 16v Turboed version iirc?

That's what I had to settle for as the Ferrari version was way outside my ragged pockets?

I'd prefer the turbo also.

Looks like the Volvo 400 series. If it was as reliable, it could be ok, but def nowhere near cool yet.

The pics don't do the Thema styling justice. The thing feels so flush when you're standing next to it. My fave Thema is the SW.

Same doors, but the other panels were different.

Mine had a few bits of genuine rosewood here and there, but not as much as displayed in the 8.32. :

Poltrona Frau interior didn't have that rosewood capping. My Dedras had that rare African rosewood and alcantara too.

Very much a wolf in sheeps clothing, the rear spoiler coming out of the boot lid was very cool. Had a choice between a 2ltr Thema & a Dedra and chose the Dedra - last of the RHD Lancia's.

should be super cool. Subtle looks, Ferrari engine, mad concept over all (Ferrari engine in a saloon), but I want to like it more than I actually do. I'm 60:40 on it being cool with the 60 being for cool.

I would consider running one as a daily. I wonder how expensive that would work out as? I might youtube them in a moment to hear what they sound like.
