Fiat Croma I

The original Croma was a family saloon from the 80s/90s that filled the need for a largish yet not overly expensive car for Italian families. Did its job without rusting too much Ö but is it cool?

Seriously uncool.

Reasons? Just read Biggie's description. It has almost nothing going in its favour apart from being Italian. Not even stylish.

A car destined to rot in ignominy unnecessarily exhumed by the OP to resurrect its dullness and to sap any positiveness we were feeling today. Shame on you Biggie.

Just right for a warm and cuddly family conveyance I thought, but never cool?

I road tested one once, turboed version, and it was ok for that purpose for the wife and kids, but then opted for the Thema 16V Turbo version which I kept for what was it fourteen years or so iirc, ???

I'm horrified at the lack of tedious practicality on show here.

a big boot and folding rear seats just aren't enough where the Croma's concerned, boss.

Cars were so generic in the mid eighties. No wonder Giugiaro said about his career " so I created some tin boxes" , or words to that effect!

Probably not a bad car, but bland and definitely not cool.

An italian car without any style is always going to struggle.
