Chevrolet Bel Air

A bit more Americana... this time from the 50's

Has that classic 50's shape, long bonnet and tail fins

Great 2 door and perfect for hot rodding. 2nd and 3rd generation look the best to me.

Is it cool?

Always liked the '55 myself. I think it comes from watching 2 lane blacktop and American graffiti as a kid.

Yes, yes, yes! The Chevy Belair is my ultimate cool car. In fact my Wedding car was very much like the one pictured, '56 in red & white and stock, no mods, no custom touches, just pure and original. We were lucky enough to marry 5 years ago in New Zealand, Bay of Islands and I had requested a vintage American car. After 6 months the wedding planner came up trumps with a really beauty....

Cool, but i'd have a '59 Eldorado convertible, any chance of a poll for that?

The hard as nails 55 from Two Lane Blacktop

Unusually for film cars the main car used was properly built rather than a lash up. The same car, with a coat of paint, was driven by Harrison ford in American Graffiti.

The standard cars don't do it for me - I agree with Gaz that they look cheesy and tacky.
Hotrod ones are cool though. Technically I should moan about the poll being too broad.

I don't especially like them but they are cool. The modified and neatly customised jobs are better.
