They are lovely

I want to say cool straight away. They might be now but I'm conscious of my own affection, so I'm hanging fire.

It doesn't help that the pics you chose are so sweet.

There's a guy near herer with about 3 of them. Right noisy buggers they are, but fairly cool I think. They look like fun.

I'm marshalling, so taking pictures other than in the paddock is out of the question, & I don't think I'll have much time for that .

Now here's something interesting for any Imp lovers in the North-East:

The Imp Club | Imp 2015

Hillman Imp...cool as ice!

And anything with an engine called a Climax has got to be super-cool.

Nope.

Never understood the attraction.

Technically a marvel, but just an ugly
little thing to look at.

I don't like them.

Ugly, unreliable and the engine is in the wrong place.

Going off the hood scoop with an air filter underneath and the 383 graphic on the side, I'm guessing the orange one is more Mopar than Linwood.

How wrong can you be? It's a stroked small block Chevy not a Mopar. It's quite quick:

Fantastic, unreal. Took some work and the imagination to stick that in there.

The original tappet pad Imp engine was used by the Fire and Rescue guys as a pump engine?iirc

Guess you all knew that?

Dads Chammy version had the normal transaxle probs which had to be fixed as did the majority of the originals.

Sub-zero for me, if I was given a straight choice between an Imp and a Mini it would be the Rootes product for me.

Flexible gear change from front to rear, clutch cable, in fact all the controls up front, plus long ranging heater hoses and other components made for a problem or two?

Still the early minis were also needing constant fixes, so not much to choose between the two really.
