Fiat 8V and 8V Vignale and Ghia Supersonic and and

The Fiat 8V (or "Otto Vu") was produced from 1952 to 1954. The Fiat 8V got its name because at the time of its making Ford had a copyright on the term V8.

The 8V was developed by Dante Giacosa and the stylist Luigi Rapi. The engine was a V8 originally designed for a luxury saloon, but that project was stopped. The Fiat V8 had a 70 degree V configuration of up to a 1996 cc of volume. A at 5600 rpm the engine produced 105 hp (78 kW) in standard form. Add a four speed box, independent suspension and drum brakes.

Ghia and Vignale had a fiddle...

Some of the other front ends are a little awkward or even derpy - but that top one is lovely.

The 8v body is sub zero when squeezed onto a Cobra 427 frame. Older readers may remember the Wilment Cobra Ghia being for sale in Classic and Sportscar throughout the 80s & 90s.

All very pretty and very 60s. Cool.

Can't really vote for it given the different body works but I'd say at least cool.

Very cool. Nudging sub zero.

It was essentially a bespoke coach-built car with only a few dozen sporting more or less identical "factory" bodies IIRC. Some were drop dead gorgeous, other versions (as said by a couple of you before me) don't quite work around some angles and tend to the prosaic rather than poetic in shape.
