Cadillac Sixteen

A 2003 concept that never made it into production but set the design culture for the brand, and still does.

830ci V16 (electronically controlled, so it operated in banks of 3, depending on demand), providing 1000 of any type of grunt you want.

Interesting. I wonder what it sounds like? Although I suspect that most of the time it sounds crappy - since it would be a straight 3 at tickover and through town (albeit still carrying around the weight of another 3 engines!)

Actually, wait a sec ... how does it work in banks of 3 when it's overall cylinder count isn't divisible by 3?

In terms of looks, I think the outside isn't bad. Still looks a bit futuristic now, but has plenty of Caddy cues, the c-pillar especially (is it still called the c-pillar when there's no b-pillar?)

Inside looks like a brothel though.

I remember loving it in 2003, mainly because it had 16 cylinders like the wonderful machinery they made in the 30s. Looking at it now, I'm not so sure.

I meant in banks of 4, but I think it went 4, 8 and then 16.....though I may be wrong.

What Malc said. And it's just a concept. Uncool.

I remember being both interested and repulsed by it when I saw it at a show back in 2003 or '04.
