Porsche 918 Spyder

One of a new breed of hypercar, combining hybrid electric power giving 280bhp and a 4.6 V8 delivering 608bhp. Electric only mode allows around 14 miles range. Not really one for the eco warriors

Is it cool?

Seriously interesting. As Gaz says, a new breed of HyperCar taking us genuinely into the future.

It's also quietly handsome, moderately restrained even.

It's still uncool.

New 'hyper' car and as such - uncool.

Where do you put the water for the hydro-electric? Probably great if you own a reservoir but otherwise I imaging it would be wildly impractical.

As such uncool.

Cool for that alone.

It is a Porsche so it is never going to be cool, but as it isn't another generic 911 derivative it doesn't get a seriously uncool.
