I could cope with the 330BHP V6 if I had to. I've driven supercharged jags before and tbh the responsibility of having 500BHP can get a bit tiresome in everyday use for me.

I think it is cool ... from most angles.

Is it just me or are there too many holes at the front end, its just seems to be 'over ventilated' with the size of the grill, the gills and the vents on the bonnet and wings.

Also, it is not just the 4C that got the front headlights a bit wrong!

Just about cool for me. However in about '72-'73 iirc? in Motor,Auto Car, or whichever mag it was, the drawings appeared for the then proposed 'F' type??

Replacement for the 'E' type?( Never!)

Well at that that I had mine, and I was rather concerned that a totally different machine was about to be introduced.

As is oft' repeated on here, Enzo once said, the 'E' Type was the most beautiful production car in the world? :

Its got a V8 too, if you get chance read the Evo review on it, they test both the V6S and V8S. Very cool. Both versions.

All those grilles, vents and big placcy diffuser things spoil what I think is basically a very pretty shape.

Cool but no more than that.

It just doesn't look special enough outside or especially inside fo it to be cool for me. I bet it's great to drive too but it doesn't have that ground breaking something the E-type had.

It's not fair to compare anything to the E type. Nothing like the E type had ever happened before or ever will again from any manufacturer anywhere in the world.

Honest question. Why do you say having 500 BHP can get a bit tiresome?

"everyday use" is the critical phrase. I just don't need that much power to get to work or go to the shops. You have to be aware of it constantly. It's almost impossible to overtake without breaking any speed limit. Accelerate on the motorway to overtake a lorry and you can be in three figures before you have passed it. Snow or ice, forget it. I found myself constantly keeping the things in check.
Maybe it's my age but I honestly think cars with that much power are not suitable for everyday use for me.

I can see the logic of that. Driving a really properly quick car in and around Manchester or any other city would ultimately be a frustrating experience because there are so few opportunities to let it off the leash. I trundle round in a car that has 115BHP and weighs 1500kg and don't find myself holding up the traffic too much.

Just sneaks into cool. The back and sides look good, the front looks heavy; clumsy almost. The interior is a bit corporate drab.

But it's a sporty Jag and seems fairly capable too. It's no ground-breaking style icon like the E-Type though.

It had better be . It's 20 k more than you'd expect and with a rather 80s Honda interior.

I like it very much. It looks taut, agressive and modern although it does seem quite colour sensitive from the pics I've seen in reviews (prefer the V6S with twin-pipes over the V8 with quad though). Shows promise for future Jags too as they gradually shed their old-man/golf club image that always get slapped on them. I think the clincher for the coolness aspect will be in the clientelle that buy them - if Rooney and all his mates gets one it'll be straight to uncool for me!
