You don't have to like it. It's a seriously uncool piece of wad-waving nonsense with more ostentation than Victorian London.

I agree with SIF. There is no need for a car like this. Seriously uncool

Saw it yesterday in the tin/carbon/grp (papiermache?). It's a totally out of control form. The Reventon next to it could not be from the same stable as its superb.
What's going on?

The Countach throwback wheelarches look like they were done by Jeremy Clarkson, it looks stupid and ridiculous from every angle, there is nowhere you could go in it where you wouldn't look like a massive bell end. Seriously uncool. Seriously.

It can't be - according to my rules it must lose a full grade because of being an unobtainable museum piece.
I don't like the front styling much but otherwise it just makes it into cool. It's a limited run Lambo so it's practically required to be extreme!

It's absolutely bloody hideous. So they made 3 or 4 of these things all presold, goes to show you money does not necessarily buy you good taste.Seriously uncool.

It's hideously awesome. It has a shark's fin for the central spoiler support and the tail lights look like rocket boosters.

Different strokes for different folks Ben! We've had that discussion and I respect your view but don't agree about the museum quality. I don't care how long the run is, or what form the styling takes - it could be extreme and still cool. This fails miserably to be cool.

Sure, it is incredibly dramatic, interesting in a poster-on-a-schoolboy's wall kind of way but it isn't remotely cool. Anyone driving one would look (as kb put it so well) like a "massive bell end" which is not a cool look no matter how much money you have.

It is hard to explain. There's a scene in the (dreadful) movie Gone in 60 Seconds where Nic Cage's character "Raines" is talking to a posh car salesman and it goes something along the lines of him being rich and new in town and he mentions all the new Lambo's, Ferraris etc:

Raines: "......and you know what it tells me about this City? There are too many self-indulgent weiners with too much BLOODY MONEY!! Now if I was driving a 1967 Ferrari 275GTB Four Cam.....
Salesman: "You would not be a self-indulgent weiner, sir. You'd be a connoisseur..."
Raines: "Precisely. Champagne would fall from the heavens, velvet ropes would part, doors would open...."

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Ben, I prefer my sharks in the ocean and as for tail lights like rocket boosters, put the ugly thing into orbit I say

My point is nobody would drive one, which is not a cool look for the car. If somebody were to drive one, yes it would be difficult for them not to look like a bell end. Either way the car loses marks.

I also agree that Gone In 60 Seconds is dreadful - Nicholas Cage was but one of their mistakes.

But I still had to give this Lambo cool. American cars in the 50s were styled after jets and rockets, a Miura has doors that look like bull horns, in the '80s your dash was made out of LEDs to look like the future and "TURBO" was written on your upholstery etc. There's a bit of that here, and once it dates it'll be cool in the same way that all whimsical features/vehicles are.
All they need to do to take it to the next level is tweak the front of the car to look like the nose of a shark (wouldn't take much), and put a fricken laser on its head.

Park one next to your Alfa 156/147/GT/159/Mito/GTV/Spider and then bring your 10 year old son outside and say: "which one do you want to go for a ride in?"

I bet I know 100% which one he would choose.

Now, is that because he has no taste or because the Lambo really is seriously "cool!"

I like to think I have the 10 year-olds attitude to something truly exciting rather than the attitude of a world-weary, opinionated bore . . .

Not even for a moment did I think this car would generate so many comments and such a difference in votes!

This makes me happy.

Thanks for that.

Of course a kid would want a go in it! So would I! It doesn't make it cool. IM-world-weary-HO.

I was being sarcastic and didn't mean any real offence.

I have days where there is no one more world-weary than me . . .
