Wouldn't swap my MiTo for one - 'nuff said. Uncool, particularly as the design team gave up when they got to the rear.

Next to my 159 I think the Citroen DS is as cool as it gets
One of the best cars I ever had was a Xantia which tells you all you need to know about my choice in cars

I think that when it comes to styling the DS does show innovation.

Spot on.

Citroen DS3 Racing, how to look a complete prat in 36 unaffordable monthly payments.

Someone mentioned "Design Team" That is a 7 year old's wet dream of a car.

Not from this quarter. I like Citroens, unlike most I don't have an automatic dislike of all things French and consider Citroen to be true innovators with a loooong and outstanding record. The original DS is an absolute classic, going further back the Traction Avant is another. Both are iconic cars and since then others have not embarrassed the brand either.

I also know that Alfa can be poo.

I'm not taking issue with the brand, nor even the DS3. Citroen have managed to make a different looking car without deluding themselves that that automatically means good.

I take issue with the complete and utter chavtastickery of the **** they have thrown at this particular example. A car that could score highly on Barryboys.com without any "improvements" from a brain dead yoof.

Not badge snobbery, maybe social snobbery.

I don't see any comment that even references the make. Are you possibly seeing a lot of people not like something that you do like, and therefore ascribing a poor reason on their part because that means they're wrong and you're right?

I had a look at the cooking DS3 when they first came out, this was before I bought the MiTo. The interior just doesn't work for me, the seats in particular have a strange lump just below the headrest which I found incredibly uncomfortable. The Racing looks like it's been covered in Superglue and driven through the 'styling' section of Halfords - all that's missing are the orange neon lights underneath.
Citroen have produced some fantastic cars in the past but this, unfortunately, isn't one of them.

It's "fun" and "youthful" - almost painfully so as it tries so hard to tell you how "fun" and "youthful" it is.

Everyone also knows it doesn't drive as well as a Clio Cup or Cooper S, so it's just a looks thing and as such it is a faddy rather than classic piece of design with a heavy emphasis on chavvy Ripspeed/Halfords style adenda so it can't be cool.

i'd say the standard ds3 is reasonably cool in a citroen kinda way. the racing however, is not. quantity of stickers on a car is inversely proportional to it's coolness

So you've actually seen more than one. Here in New Zealand almost nobody buys Citroens, especially sporty ones. This makes the problem worse.
A hypothetical DS3 Racing buyer would have the only such car on the road. He'd get constant stares and questions ("What the **** is that?" "Why's the B pillar on backwards?" "Did you paint the wheels orange?"), the car would have no credibility or respect anywhere, and he'd never be able to sell it again. EVER.
Seriously uncool.
