Lotus Evora S

An even better edition of the Evora. Is it cool?

So close to being cool , but there's something not communicating how good it is to drive etc.Car magazine say its the best car in its fleet at the moment especially the steering.

i have a problem with this, sort of. Why didnt they make the car this good in the first place? What it basically means is if you buy an original Evora its not quite as good as it should be

Cars like this should be designed to be the best they can be from the beginning

Car companies usually improve their models as time goes by.

As an ex S2 Super 7 and S4 Elan Sprint owner from the Colin Chapman era, my instinct is to always support Lotus products; and although I've not been able to purchase or drive an Evora here in UAE as there is currently no official Lotus agent, I did get to look at a private import Evora S a couple of months ago, and my impression was that this is a Super Cool, Highly Desirable car.

Cool, but only just. A sportscar with 4 seats is already flirting with being uncool by trying to be semi-practical. OK, it's a 2+2 and can be a 2+0 but they originally launched it pushing the extra seats' practicality side quite a bit.

It's still not all that well built and while build quality (or price, for that matter) isn't a test of coolness, it certainly is a factor in a car costing north of £60k.

The safe bet would be a Cayman or a 630d coupe so the buyer of one of these is more of an individual to begin with and is prepared to take a bit of a risk both financially and with reliability - which is quite cool.

So that's why I'm voting cool.

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

Jan 2019 New Giulia Veloce Misano Blue
2008-15 New 159Ti experience: overwhelmingly positive. Reliable and fun over nearly 100k.
2015-18 147 1.6TS runaround
6/9/12 - 15 New Mito 135MA Distinctive - 100% reliable 37k

Quite like this however pistonheads are running a feature this week about an electric version and the colour, the colour can only be described as awful brown, what were they thinking ??

Just uncool (I think).

Quite like the look of this thing but there's something missing. I suppose I'm undecided really.
