Jeep Wrangler

One of the best off-roaders that exist today, and one with pedigree as well. Now it's available with two and four doors and in at least three trim levels, the Rubicon being the most suited for serious off-roading.

Given the fact that you can buy it with many specific options, a specs list is hard to put together, hence the reduced number of stats.

Engine: V6
Displacement: 3.8 liter
Aspiration: Natural
Power: 202 bhp (151 kW)
Torque: 237 lb∑ft

Earlier incarnations could be considered cool if driven in the sunshine with the roof and doors removed. If the roof and doors come off, it's cool. If the roof and doors don't come off it's ****e.

I've always quite liked them but can't quite make my mind up about if they are cool or not.

They are cool if driven by half naked californian surfer chicks

Damn you Jeep. Damn you to hell for keeping the removable doors and filling my head with hotpants.

Used to be my dream car.

An old CJ7 with round headlights.

Until I drove a square headlight one 1/3 the way across the US.

Fun,but not on long distances.

barely cool.

(If it's one with non-armoured underside: Utterly gay.)

Jeep should've gone out of business when the Willys production ended, nothing noteworthy since.

Oh I don't know CJ7 with CommandTrac was pretty good
off road.

Googled a nice animation here: http://www.jeep.com/en/4x4/how_systems_work/

BTW most "Willys" were actually built by Ford.

Cool - but only just.
Drove one on my last visit to Denver and it served me well on our trips into the Rockies.
And it beats a lot of the other stuff in that price range on the streets of the States....

In the UK you may be right.
(After being featured driven around Manchester on some BBC drama show, "Queer Up North" or something...?)

But not in the rest of the world.

My dads got one for the winter and for general carrying crap around

It's not particularly attractive , but it gets the job done !

Has never broken down or anything

He traded his first one in for a land rover overfinch which was nothing but trouble, so traded it in the next week for another wrangler

The old ones are cheap and cheerful and because they were so basic there wasnt much to go wrong, good power to weight ratio from the 4.0 straight 6 due to the lack of real comforts.

Those new ones look a bit more girl friendly
