Usually big SUV's/4x4's aren't but the Rangey is just about cool unless it is one of those white ones full of addenda looking like an automotive Christmas tree.

Definitely uncool. It's ugly, expensive and ridiculously thirsty. At 3200 kilos you ought to have to have an HGV licence to drive one. If it had more room inside it'd just be a 4 seater truck. As it is it's pointless.

Uncool. And in the 'Sport' model is possibly the most uncool car in the world.

If you want an offroader, buy a defender. It really is that simple.

I voted cool, because it was the original luxury off-roader, and is still the best.

Goes about its business with the minimum of fuss, tackling all terrains, from Oxford Street to the wilds of the Highlands.

Not cool, although the old blue 3 door original in one photo is very, very cool.

this is a really cool car for me yes if you want an off roader you buy a defender but if you want a 4x4 that is very good on the road but can mix it with the best of them off road you get the rangey everytime

also can anyone remeber when topgear showed the overfinch creation it out accelerated the boxster s when the overfinch was on the grass what a cool machine

Cool.

Too many variants to hum and ho over, V8 petrol is probably silly, V6 TD is more useable, original model is cooler (remember Calan?) etc etc. Line it up with an ML, X5, Disco, G-wagon, Land Cruiser etc and it is the polar bears parts.

The original one was cool, even if we have to hold it responsible for the hordes of upmarket 4x4s now clogging up the road network. The later Metrocab look-alike most definitely wasn't cool. The later ones are probably the coolest of the big 4x4s but whether that actually makes them cool, I'm not sure. Boiling water is cooler than fire but I wouldn't necessarily want to spend much time in either.

I'd have an original but my preference would be for a Defender.

I have Range Rover Classic and it is fantastic, if buying now I would go for Defender over modern Gin Palace models.
Although she does have a bit of a drink problem.

Oh I love these.. had a classic.. miss it.. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO want a newer one.. its actually the one car that if you were told you could only have one car ever I would buy.. it makes the right noise, it looks good, it is fast enough for me ( not much good around the track though) and best of all for me.. I wouldnt get stuck on my street first sign of ice..

Driven a nice new one of these and hated having to give it to the person hiring it.. lol

I voted uncool.....

The car itself is an extremely capable vehicle, it has also set bench marks that other manufacturers aspire to.....

However IMHO it image is what ruins it for me, and by that i mean the 'chelsea tractor' image, not often do i get judgemental about the driver of cars, but 'Rangy' drivers do seem to do that for me, and many others that i know

The car is cool, not so sure about most of the people who seem to drive them...
