Porsche Panamera Turbo

Stuttgart's answer to the top of the line sport sedans. As expected, it's very fast and luxurious. It may be a very capable performer, but it's hated by Porsche purists.

Aspiration: Twin turbos
Power: 500 bhp (373 kW) @ 6,000 rpm
Torque: 516 lb·ft @ 4,500 rpm

0 - 60 mph: 4.1 seconds

If it wasn't front-engined and hated by Porsche purists, I'd have rated it even lower!
Quattroporte is still the king.

Amazing performance. Incredible acceleration for such a big car.

With that styling though, IMO can never be considered cool.

utterly reptrehensible and more than a tad vulgar too. Seriously uncool. Pimps and footballers queue here please.

As an aside, what is it with ze Germans at the moment with these vulgar creations? They used to be so sober suited, understated and dare I say classy in years gone by. Now most look as though the styling deprtment has ramraided Halfords . . . . . . .

See quite a few of them here and they look very odd from most angles and ugly from other angles.

I imagine its an entertaining car to drive

As a set of performance figures on paper, yes. As a real world car, no.

Seriously, hopelessly and utterly uncool. It is so uncool that ownership of it transcends temperature and enters the realms of the truly, deeply, sad.

I like a lot of uncool things....

I also like Porsches normally but your cool-nav is off with this one Skell. If you had the dough you'd buy a GT3 or an older RS. Trust me, most people would buy a proper sports car and a Maser rather than this (IMHO).

Am I the only one who suspects that the Maser is a bit naff?

If there's a prize for post of the week I think you've just won it!

I didn't know that the purists hated the Pana'. It kind of makes me want to get one and turn up to Porsche Drivers' Club meetings in it.

I actually quite like how it looks because it's striking and different. It's a long way from being cool though.

Nah Jim I am always right trust me I would have a turbo over a GT3 and a GT2 over both! If I had the money this would be the daily driver with something a little bit special for the weekend

But I I really had money (i wish!) then I would a different one for every day of the week, Monday Meser, Tuesday M5, Wednesday Porsche, Thursday 8C, Friday Ferrari, Saturday GTA, Sunday Lambo, rotating depending on my mood lol.
